Welcome!

Welcome to New Forest Woodwind, my name is Tim! I am a musician and woodwind teacher, based in Christchurch on the South Coast of England. In addition to offering online and in-person music lessons, New Forest Woodwind is also home to my range of handcrafted Forest Flutes. Meditation flutes made from a variety of carefully selected hardwoods, each with their own unique sound and character. My flutes are designed to be easily playable, no matter your age or skill level, and our online resources will have you up and running in no time. Forest Flutes are the perfect companion to accompany you on your musical journey.

Learn

With over 30 years’ experience as a music teacher, I offer flute, clarinet, saxophone, and theory lessons, in-person (in the local area) or online. Whatever your ability, lessons are a great way to improve your playing, while having fun along the way. Music tutoring is also available for GCSE and A-level music students. Make

Fancy having a go at making your own flute? Flute blanks are available in a variety of woods, already turned and with the core pre-bored. Instructions can be provided for different hole placements and designs. Just drop me an email and I will send you more details. Perfect for a home project or gift, with only basic tools required.

Play

Small enough to fit in a backpack, yet packed with expressive potential, a Forest Flute is the perfect musical companion, whether you’re at home or on the road. Made from carefully selected hard woods, including rosewood, olive, cherry and ash, each flute possesses its own distinct sound and character. End-blown and side-blown flutes are available, with instruments tuned to the pentatonic, major, or minor scales, for easy playability and boundless creative potential.
